THE PROBLEM
I’m the only one who regularly uses our linen closet in our bathroom and with the wire shelves, small items would fall through the shelves and get lost. I needed some sort of storage solution to keep similar items together.
THE GOAL
I wanted this linen closet to be organized by categories. I wanted to be able to open the door and know where each item was. I didn’t want to waste my time looking for specific items. Ultimately, I wanted the bathroom linen closet organized so that I could get ready quicker in the morning.
the before
Remove everything.
I first removed everything we had from the linen closet and laid it all out on the floor in our master bedroom.
Buy baskets with an open top.
You want to be able to reach your items quicker and a lid (in my opinion) will get in the way.
Roll up the towels.
Rolling towels instead of folding them allows you to grab the one you want without destroying the pile. Whenever I would try to fold the towels into squares, the pile would dismantle and fall apart because it’s on the highest shelf in the linen closet.
Categorize your items.
